Adams Peak

Adam’s Peak or Sri Pada is an important pilgrim site. The devotees of many religions climb the mountain to invoke blessings. Buddhists believe that the impression on the summit is the footprint of Lord Buddha. Sri Pada is the 4th highest mountain in Sri Lanka and it takes aprroximately 4-5 hours to reach the peak by foot. The mountain is also called Samanala Kanda or Butterfly Mountain. The area is rich in biodiversity and surrounded by the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary.

Lover's Leap Fall

Lover's Leap water fall is located in Hawaeliya. Cascading from a massive rock, it is 30 meters (99 feet) high & very beautiful, specially in the rainy season. There is a famous story behind this fall about a Prince who went hunting & met a beautiful woman and eventually fell in love. The parents of the Prince were against this affair so according to the legend, the lovers committed suicide by jumping off from the top & that is why it is named “ Lover's leap” fall.

Seetha Amman Temple

Sri Seethai Amman temple is a unique temple that is allegedly been built where Seeta Mata spent her days in the prison of Ravana (approx 5000 years ago). It's unique because it is one of the very few temples dedicated to Seeta in the entire island.

Devon Falls

Devon Falls is one of the most beautiful water falls in Sri Lanka, & is situated in Thalawakale. Starting at 1159m from the sea level & having a height of 98m, you can enjoy the beauty of both Thalawakale & Hatton while visiting this waterfall.

Aberdeen Falls

Aberdeen Falls is a picturesque 98m (322ft) waterfall situated on the Kehelgamu Oya near Ginigathena, in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. Aberdeen is named after the third largest city in Scotland and the capital of Aberdeenshire. This waterfall is very beautiful and is covered with a big stone outcrop.

St. Clair's Falls

St. Clair's Falls is billed as Sri Lanka's Nayagara, or 'king of waterfalls' due to its outstanding beauty. It is 80m in height and 50m wide, and consists of two segments known as 'Big St. Clair' and 'Small St. Clair'. Created by the Kotmale River, a tributary to the Mahaweli River, it flows down a slope through an abandoned tea estate that covers hundreds of hectares.

Pedro Tea Factory

Pedro Tea Factory is the tea facotry that is closest to the Nuwara-Eliya town. Being equipped with modern technology, it produces some of the most sought after tea, that is popular all over the world.

Oliphant Estate

Oliphant Estate is significant because this is where Mr.Laurence Oliphant planted the first thirty tea plants sent from China to Sri Lanka. Spanning 100 acres, this estate is a sight to behold

Bluefield Tea Gardens

Bluefield includes the Estate, Tea Factory, Tea Center and a Restaurant. Spanning 100 acres & with an average population of 1000, it provides workers with facilities such as Housing, Electricity, School & Healthcare. Visitors can enjoy facilities such as the tea center, restaurant, tea lounge, car park, factory tours, estate visits & tea gardening with guides who speak English, French, German, Arabic.

Kurudu Ella

Kurudu Ella is located 30km away from Nuwara-Eliya. Being 200m high, the waterfall starts from Mahathudugala Mountain and falls across the Haputale area. However, it is very difficult to reach the waterfalls by vehicle, & you have to walk on foot for about 2kms.

Ramboda Falls

Ramboda Falls is 109m high and is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th highest in the world. Situated in Pussellawa area on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass, the water fall starts at an altitude 945m above sea level.

Glenloch Tea Factory

Among the most famous of the city's tea producing facilities, Glenloch Tea Factory provides visitors with a complete picture with regards to the seven-stage process required to turn the raw green leaves into a consumable product. Guides talk tourists through the finer details of picking, semidrying, rolling, drying, cleaning, fermenting and grading.

Lakshapana Fall

This waterfall originates from the Maskeliya Oya, rising from the forest south of Fairlawn Estate. An old story tells that the waters of this fall come from Indikatupana, where once Lord Buddha sat on a rock to repair his clothes.

Labookellie Tea Centre

The Labookellie tea center on Kandy road offers guided tours of the factory free of charge and also runs a sales outlet and a restaurant on site.

Kotmale Reservoir/Dam

The Kotmale project is one of five major headworks projects being undertaken under the Accelerated Mahaweli Ganga scheme. It is the most upstream of these projects and develops the hydro potential of a major right bank tributary of the Mahaweli Ganga, the Kotmale Oya.
